Hey Crafty Friends!
Happy Fall!
Fall is wonderful here in Michigan. You get some nice warm days and beautiful colors all around. I found a pin last year that I wanted to recreate. I think it turned out great! It was fast, easy and not too expensive.
Here are the original pin and my version side by side.
I used 3 wooden boxes, ribbon, 2 faux pumpkins, flowers and a cute glass pumpkin with a LED candle inside, all from Michaels. Everything was 50% off and I had an extra 20% total purchase coupon. Total price was about $80. (I will link everything I can below) It was a very quick project to put together and I can use all the items next year. It only took me about 30 minutes to get everything set up. I filmed the process.
I did not screw or nail the boxes together and they have held up well, even during the few storms we have had. When I knew a big storm was coming, I did bring in the pumpkins. I left the boxes and flowers out there and they did just fine. I attached the ribbon to the wooden box with packing tape. I held up ok, but it is coming off in a few places. I think next year I may try using mod podge instead. In the original pin, it looks like it is an old cooler. I may stop at a few thrift stores and see if I can find an old cooler and try the mod podge trick.
Lessons learned:
- I wish I could have found an LED light with a timer, so I don’t have to remember to turn it off every night.
- The flowers stayed attached to the boxes by just bending them and sliding them through the slates, but the side of the boxes are not pretty. I will definitely need to figure out a cleaner look to attach them.
Overall, I’m happy with the way it turned out.

Now on to Halloween decorating. 🎃
