DoodleBug Designs: I ❤️ Travel – Mini Album

Hi Crafty Friends!

I finally made my first mini album! YAY! 😁 I love mini albums and have been watching TONS of YouTube videos to learn how to make one. Then, the other day I was in my local scrapbook store and I found the new Doodlebug Designs: I ❤️Travel paper collection. It is so cute! I thought the paper would be perfect for a mini album.

I decided to followed one of Rosa Kelly’s Scrapbooking tutorials, here is the exact one I followed. She is a great teacher. I really learned a lot and I think it turned out great.

New Content Coming – Tech Talk Tuesday’s and more

Hey Crafty Friends!

I have been working on ideas for some new content for the YouTube channel and here on the blog. I recently filmed a channel update video, you can check it out here or below. I would like to start including some videos on tech tips, something like “Tech Talk Tuesday”. I am a total tech geek! 🤓

To start, I will post a “Tech Talk Tuesday” at least once a month, but maybe more if you have a specific subject you would like for me to cover. If I am knowledgeable on the topic, I will either post a video with some information or maybe even a quick tutorial. I thought I would start with some simple topics, specifically for the crafters that are starting on YouTube, IG (The Gram) and even venturing out and starting a blog.

I would also like to start posting some planning videos. I recently purchased some new planners/journals and I am trying to get a daily routine down. I want to be able to continue adding new content on a regular basis, while still working my full-time 9-5 job. I am an IT Project Manager, so planning is kinda my jam.

If there is any specific tech topics you would like me to cover, feel free to drop a comment here or on the YouTube video. On a final note, I did get the Facebook page up and going, so you can also reach me there.

Thanks for stopping by.

DIY Avengers Infinity Stones

Hey Crafty Friends!

Mr. Craftini Time and I are defiantly big Marvel fans.  So, we are extra excited to see the new Avengers Endgame movie this weekend. 🤓 We bought our tickets a couple of weeks ago and are ready 3 hours of excitement.  This post is a little late because we were not able to see the movie until Saturday, so we were on a social media blackout to avoid any spoilers.

I have been on a 3D paper craft project kick lately, so I wanted to make something 3D.  You can check out the Peeps Basket I made a couple of weeks ago for one of my Easter projects  here on the blog and the YouTube video here.

So, I went searching for a cut file that looked like the gems or some type of stones.  I came a crossed a couple in the Silhouette Design Store, I purchased both.  But, I found some issues with one of them after bringing them into Cricut Design Space and ended up going with this one – Design ID 145559.  I go into more details about the issues in the video project share below.

There are 5 different color stones, so I used some glitter paper to create them.

You can check out how they came out below.

Hopefully, in the week or so, I will finish the  tutorial on how to bring in svg files purchased from the Silhouette Design Store into Cricut Design Space.

Thanks for stopping by!

My First Pocket Letter Swap

Hey crafty friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I didn’t get any crafting done over the weekend, but I did finish my pocket letter during the week for my swap pal.  You might be asking “what is a pocket letter?”.  According to Janette Lane’s website (she started the pocket letter trend) it is “a new way to send letters to your new or existing pen pals. Basically, you fill all the pockets of a 9 Pocket Trading Card Protector and send the whole page to someone who wants to swap with you.”  (http://janettelane.blogspot.com/2015/02/what-are-pocket-letters.html)

So, on to the swap part… I am in a Facebook Group called Pink Pixel Graphics VIPs.  This is really a planner group.  Pink Pixel Graphics website offers free planner printables, digital planner items, crafts and cut files.  I found her website and joined the FB group.  The group hosts a swap every month and you can opt-in if you like.  I have never made a pocket letter so I thought it would be fun.  You get paired up and then you contact your swap partner and get to know them to see what they would like in their pocket letter.  While getting to know Pegi I found out she likes Harry Potter too!  I knew right away that would be my theme for the letter.

I went out on Pinterest and found some great ideas. Like this one for Butterbeer.

I also did a Google search to find some cute print and cut images to cut out on my Cricut.

I was really fun!  If any of you would like to swap pocket letters or cards, let me know.  I would be happy to swap with you.  I will leave links under the video on where to find  the printable Hogwarts letter.

How to make Dino-mite! Shaped Cards in Cricut Design Space

Hey crafty people!

I wanted to make a quick, cute card for my August card swap.  So, of course, I headed over to Pinterest.  I LOVE Pinterest!  But, beware you may lose several hours of your life looking at pins that have nothing to do with what you were really looking for. lol

I find it is very hard to come up with cute cards for boys, or men for that matter.  When I found him, I knew I had to make him.

I added a screen recording to the YouTube video to show you how to create a simple shaped card.  It was my first time recording my screen, but I think it turned out ok.  If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.

You can check out the video here:

Here are some more pics of this cute little guy.
